Terms of Service
In short
- Your notes are yours. We only use them to run the service for you.
- You're responsible for the agents you connect: what they do with your token counts as done by you.
- The service is free, early-stage and provided as is. Keep your own copies of anything important.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Davide Berardi, an individual developer based in Italy ("we", "us"), for your use of the hosted Lore LLM service, the Lore LLM Desktop and Lore LLM Mobile apps, and this website (together, the "Service"). By signing in or using the Service you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the Service.
How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
2. The Service
Lore LLM is a markdown knowledge base that you edit in the apps and that AI agents you authorise can read and write through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The Service is under active development: features may change, be added or be removed, and we may suspend or discontinue the Service. If we decide to shut it down, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can export your content.
3. Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 14 years old, or the minimum age to consent to online services in your country if higher.
- Keep your devices and Google account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Tell us promptly at davide.bera2021@gmail.com if you think your account or an agent token has been compromised, and revoke the token in the apps.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to the notes, files and attachments you put in the Service ("Your Content"). You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process and transmit Your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you, including sending it to the agents you connect. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to store it and share it with the agents you connect.
5. AI agents
- When you create an agent token, you authorise that agent to access the projects and at the access level you choose. Actions taken with your agent tokens are treated as actions taken by you.
- An agent with read-write access can create, change and delete files in its projects. Deleted files cannot be recovered from the server. Review the activity feed and grant read-write access only to agents you trust.
- Agents are run by third parties (for example Anthropic or OpenAI). Your use of them is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for their output, availability or handling of your content.
- Treat agent tokens like passwords. Anyone who has one can act within that agent's permissions until it expires or you revoke it.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything illegal, or to store or distribute content that infringes others' rights or is unlawful;
- upload malware or content designed to harm the Service or other users;
- try to access another user's data, bypass permissions or probe the Service for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- overload the Service, for example with automated traffic far beyond normal personal use, or work around its limits (such as file size limits);
- resell or provide the hosted Service to others as your own product.
If you find a security issue, please report it privately to davide.bera2021@gmail.com.
7. Fees
The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you in advance, and nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement.
8. Source code and self-hosting
The source code for Lore LLM is published on GitHub. These terms cover only the hosted Service we operate. If you run your own instance, these terms don't apply to it, and you are responsible for that instance and the data it holds.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account and data by emailing davide.bera2021@gmail.com. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export Your Content.
10. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that content will never be lost. The server does not keep backups or file history, so keep your own copies of anything important.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss of data or profits, or for the actions of AI agents and their providers. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to €100.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law (Art. 1229 of the Italian Civil Code). If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your mandatory rights under the law of the country where you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the apps or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Service and ask for your data to be deleted.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of the place where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence. Otherwise the courts of Italy have jurisdiction.
